If you’re sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas, one experience you don’t want to miss is the North Star. This incredible glass observation capsule rises high above the ship, giving you 360-degree views of the ocean and every destination you visit. It’s a favorite among cruisers, but to make sure you don’t miss out, you’ll want to know exactly how to reserve your ride.
How Reservations Work
The North Star is complimentary on most sailings, but it does require a reservation since spots fill up quickly. Here’s how to secure your spot:
Download the Royal Caribbean app before your cruise.
Log in and link your reservation number.
Once onboard, open the app and look for “Activities” under the daily schedule.
Select North Star, choose your preferred date and time, and confirm your spot.
If you’re not using the app, you can also stop by the Guest Services desk or the North Star check-in station as soon as you board to book manually.
Tips for the Best Experience
Book early. The North Star is one of the most popular activities onboard, especially on sea days.
Check the weather. Clear skies mean better views, so try to schedule your ride for sunny times.
Go during port days if you want fewer crowds — many people are off the ship exploring.
Upgrade for the extended experience. On some sailings, you can purchase a longer, higher ride that goes over the side of the ship for even better views.
A Highlight of the Quantum Experience
Whether you’re soaring above the open ocean or taking in a panoramic view of a port city, the North Star is an unforgettable way to see the world from a new perspective.
And if you’re joining us on our SVH Travel Thanksgiving Cruise, make sure to snag a reservation early — we can guarantee this is an activity you’ll be talking about long after we return home.
