The two Pitons are named the Gros Piton, which stands at 798.25 m (2,618.9 ft) high, and the smaller Petit Piton, which stands at 743 m (2,438 ft) high. Although the Petit Piton is smaller, it is more challenging and strenuous to climb, making it a less popular choice for hikers. Gros Piton, on the other hand, is more frequently climbed and includes marked trails. For an entry fee, local guides will direct you up the marvelous site.
Aside from the Pitons, there are numerous other activities and excursions to partake in. Visit spots like Anse Chastanet and the Soufrière Marine Management Area to discover colorful coral reefs, tropical fish, and even the occasional sea turtle or ray. Take a trip to the world's only drive-in volcano and experience the therapeutic benefits of the Sulphur Springs mud baths. Hike to the top of Signal Peak for panoramic views of the island or visit Fort Rodney to learn about its colonial history. The possibilities are endless!
