Top 3 Destinations to Get More Sun in the Winter

Daylight savings means less sun for all of us here in the U.S., which can be quite the bummer! Thankfully, we can simply change time zones with a flight to somewhere sunnier. Here are three destinations where the sun sets later this season:

Buenos Aires, Argentina

Sunset time: 7:50PM

Buenos Aires is rich in art, culture and history, and you get to enjoy a whole day of it before the sun sets. Bask under the sun as you stroll through the vibrant neighborhoods of La Boca and Palermo. Indulge in the delicious local cuisine, such as empanadas and dulce de leche or simply relax at the Plaza de Mayo. If it's a particularly beautiful day, make the most of it with a boat trip to Tigre!

Sydney, Australia

Sunset time: 7:49PM

Head to the land down under for hours and hours of sunlight! Known for its beaches, Sydney, Australia is the perfect place to get a sun tan on the sand - Bondi Beach is one of the most famous in the country, but there's also Manly, Coogee and Bronte beaches. Take a daytime stroll at The Rocks while you peruse for souvenirs at the shops, then head into one of the pubs for a bite and a drink. Of course while you're here, you must go see the iconic Sydney Opera House too!

Wellington, New Zealand

Sunset time: 8:35PM

Wellington, New Zealand has the other two destinations beat with an extra 45 minutes of sunlight - wow! There is a lot to do under the sun in this capital city. Immerse yourself in nature and wildlife at the Wellington Botanic Garden, the Wellington Zoo, or Zealandia. Enjoy stunning views at the Wellington Waterfront or the Mount Victoria Lookout. If you're feeling extra adventurous, catch a ferry ride to visit Matiu/Somes Island.
